Hi, Ed here. Sorry for a bit of self promotion, but Star Wars: Skeleton Crew comes out today on Disney+.
I worked on and off on this project for over a year. It was a very small Creature team at ILM, and I got to be quite involved in a lot of the digital double shots for our heroes and working with the rest of the Creature team on rigging cool spaceships.
Please watch the show this week if you can, and spread the word if you like it.
The first two episodes drop tonight, and some of my shots should be in these early episodes. Also, if anyone happens to see my name in the credits, please let me know. It is always a wonderful feeling to have your name in the credits of a Star Wars project.
There are a few shots in the trailers that I worked on, doing cloth and hair simulation on the characters.
This was a fun shot of him coming out on his bike. I even got to rig and sim the alien “dog” being walked for this shot.
It took a bit of work to get his full costume and backpack working just right in this shot. And animation had revisions to help it feel right as he stumbled down the hill.
Cool little talk with some of the directors and creators of the show:
And I love this 80’s style ad for the show.
I’m also loving all the posters and toys being made:

Finally, I wanted to share some of my own fan art from the show. I made this a while back during the production of the show, but I could not share it until now. This was not official art, but just some fan art that I made.
OK, that about does it for today. Go watch the show, and let me know what you think.
And stay on the look out for more SpaceCat. I’m still plugging away at my comic.
Ed
Just returning to report that I love this show and will ride or die for Wim and Neel.
Great show! The family and I are loving it so far.
